Liverpool signed Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos for a transfer fee of €13 million last summer.

However, the left-back has hardly played for Liverpool this season. Tsimikas has only made six appearances for the Reds.

Some Liverpool supporters have taken to Twitter to suggest that they have been disappointed with Tsimikas’ 2020-21 campaign.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Tsimikas has had a few injury problems this season which have impacted his availability.

However, when Tsimikas has been available, he has not got an opportunity. Yes, Tsimikas is very much a squad player.

The 25-year-old was never going to replace Andy Robertson. The Scot has been labelled as one of the best left-backs in the world.

Therefore, Tsimikas was never going to be a regular starter for the Reds. However, we did expect Tsimikas to play more than six matches by May.

Hopefully we see more of the left-back next season. If Tsimikas plays more games, then Robertson will get more of a rest.
