The Senegal international produced a moment of magic in the 12th minute as he scored from inside of his own half.

Having spotted that David Button was outside of the penalty area, Sarr floated a sublime effort over the goalkeeper’s head.

West Brom equalised on the stroke of half-time as Karlan Grant slotted an effort past Daniel Bachmann.

Despite the fact that the Baggies dominated proceedings following the break, Watford earned an opportunity to secure victory when Sarr was brought down in the penalty area by Semi Ajayi.

Sarr was unable to convert this spot-kick as his tame effort was comfortably saved by Button.

Watford will now be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season to three games when they take on Burnley at Vicarage Road on Friday.

After his side’s 1-1 draw with West Brom, Sarr opted to praise the club’s fans on Instagram.

The Verdict

Whereas Sarr will be disappointed that he missed the chance to score what would have been the winning goal for the Hornets in yesterday’s fixture, he has made an encouraging start to the 2022/23 campaign.

Having been directly involved in both of Watford’s league goals this season, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if the winger goes on to deliver the goods against Burnley later this week.

Providing that Watford are able to keep Sarr at the club during the remainder of the transfer window, they potentially emerge as legitimate contenders for promotion later this year.

During his career to date, Sarr has shown that he is capable of setting the second-tier alight with his performances as he has scored 14 goals and has provided 11 assists at this level.
