According to L’Équipe, Ismaël Doukouré (20) has told the hierarchy at RC Strasbourg Alsace that he believes he has run his course at the club. The France U21 international has asked to leave the club this summer, amid interest from the Premier League and Bundesliga.
Doukouré almost left Strasbourg last summer amid interest from Wolfsburg. The Bundesliga side were willing to invest €15m in the centre-back, however, aware of his potential and his potential future value, BlueCo made the decision to retain the player in what was their first transfer window as owners of Les Alsaciens.
However, Doukouré could be on the move this summer. After 18 months at the club, he has informed the club’s hierarchy of his desire to leave. This demand did not come as a surprise to RCSA with the hierarchy aware that discussions over an extension to his contract, which runs until 2026, are at a dead end.
According to L’Équipe, Wolfsburg remain interested, however, they will face competition from Bundesliga rivals, as well as Premier League teams.
