Indian Super League (ISL) side, Kerala Blasters FC have confirmed the signing of Greek-Australian International striker, Apostolos Giannou from A-League Club Macarthur FC, with the striker penning a one-year deal with the club.

Giannou, who becomes Kerala Blasters first foreign signing ahead of the upcoming ISL season was born in Greece but moved to Australia at a young age and played for youth teams at the Victorian Institute of Sport and South Melbourne, before making his professional debut with the Oakleigh Cannons.

The 32-year-old is most famous for his stint Chinese Club Guangzhou City FC - who he joined for a record transfer fee in 2016. After 2 prolific seasons in Asia, Giannou signed for Cyprus side AEK Larnaca and later moved to OFI Crete FC in Greece. Before signing with the Blasters, Giannou signed with A-League side Macarthur FC where he made 21 appearances and scored 3 goals for the club.

The striker has also represented Australia at the international stage, making 12 appearances for the Socceroos, while also playing one game for the Greek national team.

"I'm really excited to be signing for Kerala Blasters. I will put my all for the team to achieve the goals it has for this year," Giannou said on signing for the club.
