Speaking to France Football, the agent of 18-year-old attacking midfielder Ishak Boussouf confirmed that his client would remain with Algerian side ES Sétif until the end of the season, despite firm offers from Rennes and AS Monaco.
Chokri Yousfi clarified why his client has made this decision:
“There were offers from prestigious clubs for this winter window. But Ishak Boussouf will finish his first season in the Algerian 1st division. It is quite simply a family decision, he signed his first professional contract with the club that formed him until December 2021. It also brings the possibility of him being able to play until the end of the season at the elite level locally, and to continue to learn. However, as the president Fahd El Halfya has clearly stated, the player will be allowed to leave in the following window.”
