Isco Alarcon has had a difficult summer. The 32-year-old suffered a broken leg during the latter stages of last season, and overly three months later, he is still recovery from the injury.
He missed Real Betis’ La Liga opener against Girona, and he will also miss this weekend’s trip to Alaves as well as both legs of their Conference League play-off clash against Ukrainian side Kryvbas.
Isco hopes to return for Betis’ final match before the international break – conveniently, it is against his former club Real Madrid. Marca say that he is rushing to return to action before the first mid-season break.
Betis have a more than capable replacement for Isco in Nabil Fekir, so there’s no need for him to push himself too much in his bid to return to action as soon as possible. It may be better served for him to save himself for the match against Leganes at the Benito Villamarin – the first fixture post-international break.
