As reported by Sky Germany, Isco landed in Berlin at 11:10pm on Monday night ahead of finalising his move to Union Berlin – the 30-year-old will undergo a medical before signing a contract until 2024, plus an option to extend the deal by a further year.
Isco’s Cessna landed almost two hours late, but it now appears that the Spaniard’s move to Union Berlin is in the final stages, in what’s surely one of the coups of the transfer window.
This was made possible after Isco and Sevilla went their separate ways and according to Fabrizio Romano, Isco received several approaches from across Europe.
After 18 games, Union Berlin are just one point behind leaders Bayern Munich and the signing of Isco will give the club a huge boost, and belief, that they can challenge for the Meisterschale.
Isco played 19 games across all competitions for Sevilla this season but mutually parted ways with the club after Jorge Sampaoli replaced Julen Lopetegui, resulting in the Spaniard falling down the pecking order.
