Newcastle United may have to prepare the barricades this summer if Alexander Isak continues his run of form as the Swedish star has found the back of the net once again.
After going 1-0 up and seeing Villa striker Jhon Durán sent off in the first half after seeing red, the Magpies doubled their advantage on Tyneside thanks to Isak, piling pressure on the race for the Champions League places.
The 25-year-old, who continues to be linked with interest from bigger clubs, has been in scintillating form since November, and can now boast a combined 12 goals and assists in that period.
With that goal, Isak is also the third Newcastle player to reach 30 Premier League goal involvements in a single calendar year (30, 24 goals + 6 assists), after Andy Cole (36, 24 goals + 12 assists) in 1994 and Alan Shearer (31, 27 goals + 4 assists) in 2002.
Can Newcastle keep hold of their star man beyond this season?
