It isn’t out of the realms of possibility that Pep Guardiola could stay at Manchester City for an extended period of time.

As much as Manchester City’s rivals would want to see the back of Pep Guardiola, it isn’t out of the realms of possibility that Guardiola could stay at Manchester City. He has often said that the club provides him with the perfect environment to operate. At Manchester City, Guardiola is free to do his job without the distractions and off-field politics that plague other clubs.

But at Manchester City, he is free to do what he does best. The club doesn’t interfere with Guardiola’s work and has given him the ideal environment to thrive. His success at Manchester City is a testament to this. There is also the opportunity for Guardiola to begin work on his next era of City success. The current Manchester City squad has achieved an unparalleled era of dominance in English football. They have also scaled the highest mountains in Europe and world football by claiming the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. But eras do come to an end, and several of Manchester City’s key players are getting on in age.

There could be the opportunity for Pep Guardiola to rebuild the Manchester City squad to continue their dominance. As previous seasons’ heroes depart over the next few years, new players will arrive tasked with carrying the mantle they leave behind. If Pep Guardiola decides to commit to a new long-term extension with the Premier League champions, they will have the ideal man in the ideal environment to continue the clubs dominance. It is a tantalising prospect to ponder.

It isn’t out of the realms of possibility that Pep Guardiola could continue his reign at Manchester City. Mike Keegan’s report indicates that City are eager to keep Guardiola at the club. There is no doubt that Guardiola has earned the right to decide the next steps of his storied career. But the prospect of Pep staying at City is one that still remains in play.
