Rangers fans are today once again baffled, exasperated and bewildered by Philippe Clement after his latest comment.
Despite the fact Celtic dropped two points to Dundee on Tuesday they remain distantly ahead in the title race and while they continue to occasionally drop points, it probably won’t make much difference overall.
And it’s with this in mind that rangers fans are borderline laughing at Clement’s claim the Rangers can still win the league.
He stated that he knew this would be a big challenge and he was hungry for the success, but we must guess that he might be downright famished at this point.
Indeed, one fan suggested he was on crack for this particular view and we cannot say we entirely disagree.
A better alternative would have been to suggest that it will be a tall order, but we will continue to fight as opposed to actually claiming we will still win the league.
While Rangers fans should never accept second best at the moment there has to be realism and being this far behind Celtic before February has even started suggests the winning the league at this point is a distant dream.
We have known on Ibrox Noise for sometime that Philippe Clamont press performances are generally abysmal and we still recall his praising his team after a dreadful match against hearts in 2023 which gave early indication of the kind of nonsense he was willing to say in the press.
It did however take other fans a very long time to realise what we’d noticed fairly quickly here on the Noise.
It would of course be lovely to win the league this season but the manager who is 15 points behind Celtic really should not be saying that we will do so.
