Ipswich Town take on Coventry City in the Championship at Portman Road on Saturday.
The Tractor Boys suffered a rare setback as they were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday, but they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 home win over Millwall on Wednesday night.
Ipswich took the lead in the fifth minute through Conor Chaplin, and they doubled their advantage just seven minutes later when Massimo Luongo fired home from the edge of the box.
Bartosz Bialkowski kept out George Hirst's effort as the hosts continued to dominate, and they added a third before the break when Nathan Broadhead headed in Leif Davis' cross.
The Lions pulled one back in the 78th minute when Kevin Nisbet converted Ryan Longman's cross, but it was nothing more than a consolation.
After losing to Luton Town on penalties in last season's play-off final, it has been a tough start to the campaign for Coventry, but they secured their second consecutive victory with a 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle at the CBS Arena on Tuesday night.
The Sky Blues had the better of the first half, and Ben Sheaf missed two good opportunities to give the hosts the lead, but Argyle improved after the break, with Ben Waine, Finn Azaz, Luke Cundle and Lewis Gibson all going close.
Coventry controversially went ahead in the 75th minute when Haji Wright finished from close range, but the ball seemed to have gone out of play before Milan van Ewijk pulled it back to the striker, and that would prove to be the winner as Mark Robins' men held on for all three points.
The Sky Blues currently sit 15th in the table, eight points from the play-off places, and nine points clear of the relegation zone.
Ipswich will be boosted by the return of Brandon Williams, who missed the game against Millwall with a knock, but McKenna says that while Janoi Donacien is closing in on a comeback, the visit of Coventry will come too soon for him.
"I don’t know if that this documented, but he came off against Fulham after 60 minutes with a groin injury and he’s been unavailable since then really," McKenna told the East Anglian Daily Times.
"It was a follow-on from the niggling little groin, pelvis issues that he’s had since pre-season.
"He’s just started training again on Wednesday. He’s not really available for match action yet, but we’ll build him up next week and he could be an important player for us in this busy period."
Axel Tuanzebe made just his second start for the club in midweek, and after struggling with a back injury in recent years, McKenna says he will need to manage his minutes carefully.
"The other night was another good step forwards for him. There's been progression in every game he's had on the pitch," McKenna said.
"There are still lots of areas for him to improve and I think that's exciting.
"He's been excellent in terms of his way around the building. He's very mature for his age, very focused, is a good professional and has been training really well.
"We always planned and agreed that it would be an easy build-in from a games point of view. Beyond that there's a process to understanding how we play and what his role would look like on and off the ball - a lot of work has gone into that. "As much as he (Tuanzebe) has had some top, top experiences in his career, he also hasn't had a lot of games in quite a few years. "We've tried to manage him well, he's up to a good level now and had a couple of starts. We'll have to make a decision now as to whether Saturday is too soon for him to go again.
"We'll make decisions with him with the medium and long-term in our minds, not just the short-term."
Coventry will again be without Kasey Palmer and Fabio Tavares for the trip to Portman Road, but Robins revealed that the pair could be available again in the coming weeks.
"Kasey is playing in the Under-21s with Fabio Tavares today and hopefully they can come through that and be a little bit closer for next week’s training into the Birmingham game," Robins told Coventry Live.
"It’s not just a case of that. They have been out for a long time, in Fabio’s case it has been nearly 12 months. Kasey has been out for over two months and you look at that, yes, absolutely. It’s slightly different to Fabio, he’s got to get his timing back. He’s got to get his rhythm back and get that confidence, you know, to go and play. But he looks better and better all the time when he’s training.
"And in the same way for Kasey in terms of his training, it just gives him that confidence that everything’s fine with his body. He’s still working his way towards his match sharpness, match fitness and then obviously match availability."
The game will not be televised as the blackout for Saturday 3pm kick-offs remains in place this season.
Supporters can follow updates from the game on Gillette Labs Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports News, and highlights will be available on the English Football League Highlights show on ITV4 at 9pm on Saturday night, repeated at 11:50pm on ITV1.
