Ipswich Town will still be on cloud nine after winning promotion to the Premier League but behind the scenes preparation, will have begun to build a squad ready for the top flight.
Having won two consecutive promotions to go from League One to the Premier League, there may be a number of players in the Tractor Boys' squad who'll need replacing given the gulf in quality between the divisions.
However, Kieran McKenna, or whoever is in charge at Portman Road next season, won't want to lose the momentum the club have built in recent seasons by ripping it up and starting again, so Ipswich will have to be very shrewd in the transfer market to add to what they've got.
With that in mind, here is the latest Ipswich Town transfer news.
Ipswich Town are interested in a move for Millwall forward Zian Flemming, according to the South London Press, and the asking price for the Dutchman has been revealed.
According to Alan Nixon, the Lions will want a fee of £5 million for the 25-year-old, who has another year left on his deal at The Den, although that can be extended by an extra 12 months.
Flemming was signed from Fortuna Sittard in the summer of 2022 and Ipswich aren't alone in their interest in the Dutchman, with Spanish club Alaves also reportedly interested.
Former England international Darren Bent has urged Ipswich Town to make a move for Ben Brereton Diaz this summer, following the Chile international's impressive loan spell with Sheffield United – scoring six goals in 16 appearances in the second half of 2023/24.
Bent, who came through the ranks at Portman Road and played for the club between 2001 and 2005, making 140 appearances for the Tractor Boys, reckons his former side should make a move for the Villarreal man.
He told Talksport: "He got six in 14. Nearly one in two.
“At Sheffield United. Come on.
"He went away to Villarreal, didn’t really play and then came back to Sheffield United.
“He is definitely one, if I am Ipswich, Leeds or Southampton. I think, yes, he is definitely [too good for the Championship].”
Ipswich Town, Wigan Athletic, Peterborough United, and Portsmouth are all in the race to sign non-league star Chris Conn-Clarke for £250,000, according to Alan Nixon.
Conn-Clarke bagged 22 goals in 46 appearances for Altrincham last season, also registering six assists, which has drawn plenty of attention towards the 22-year-old.
The Northern Irish man joined the National League side last summer but looks set to move on this summer after impressing EFL clubs, and Premier League side Ipswich.
Given that Ipswich are now a top-flight side, it's unlikely that Conn-Clarke would be a first-team player at Portman Road, he would instead likely be loaned out, so the other sides may have an advantage when it comes to signing him if they can offer him regular football.
However, joining a Premier League side is what dreams are made of for non-league players, and Ipswich seem keen to bring him to Portman Road this summer.
