Ipswich Town are back in action just days after their 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday as they travel to the Memorial Stadium to face Bristol Rovers.

The Tractor Boys came from two down to earn a point against Wednesday at Portman Road but may feel frustrated they weren’t able to come away with more after Conor Chaplin saw a penalty saved early on.

Third-placed Ipswich sit six points back from the Owls, who have a game in hand, and are eight points behind League One leaders Plymouth Argyle.

Closing that gap before the end of the season looks tough but by no means impossible.

Stringing together a winning run over the next few weeks could be vital – starting with their game against the Gas this evening.

Given the quick turnaround, Kieran McKenna may opt to shuffle his pack a little and make the most of what is a deep squad with plenty of quality.

His selection will be influenced by which players are available and with that in mind, we’ve rounded up all the latest Ipswich team news to outline who is set to miss out…

Massimo Luongo and George Edmundson missed Saturday’s game against Wednesday and are a doubt for the midweek League One tie as well.

McKenna told club media that the pair “weren’t quite right” for the weekend’s game and were set to be assessed ahead of the trip to the South West.

One player that will definitely be absent is midfielder Lee Evans, who is still sidelined with the knee injury he picked up against Cambridge United at the start of February.

McKenna appears to be optimistic that January signing Nathan Broadhead, who scored an excellent free-kick on Saturday to kick-start Ipswich’s comeback, could be available against Rovers despite being forced off against the Owls.

He revealed that Broadhead went off with cramp in that game and that final decisions are set to be made today over whether to include him, Edmundson or Luongo.

Marcus Harness looks the most likely to replace Broadhead on the left flank if the former Everton players is indeed unavailable.

Dom BallPanutche Camara, and Tyreece John-Jules are longer-term absentees.
