Ipswich Town striker Kayden Jackson has said he has loved playing under Tractor Boys’ boss Kieran McKenna after sealing a fresh deal with the club.
It was announced this morning that the 28-year-old had signed a new two-year contract at Portman Road.
Jackson’s current contract was due to expire next month.
Now, speaking to Ipswich Town club media, Jackson has said he is pleased to get the deal done, and suggested that playing under McKenna was a big factor in his decision to sign fresh terms.
“I’m really pleased that it’s done,” Kayden told itfc.co.uk.
“Because of the injury, the negotiations have been going on for a little while, but I am delighted to have it sorted now.
“We have had positive discussions ever since I got back into the team and I have loved playing under the manager.
“I play my best football when I am happy and it’s been nice to get that feeling back.
“In terms of the injury, the rehab is going well. I have a big summer ahead and I am already looking forward to next season.”

Jackson scored three goals and registered three assists for the Tractor Boys in 12 League One appearances in 2021/22.
In the EFL Trophy, the 28-year-old added a further two goals and one assist to his tally for the season.
The Verdict
It really looked like Kayden Jackson could have been heading for the exit door at Portman Road this summer.
However, Kieran McKenna coming in and getting him enjoying his football again clearly changed things and the 28-year-old will now remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
A combined tally of six goals and assists in 12 League One appearances offer a glimpse into what the 28-year-old can offer at this level and it will certainly be interesting to see how he gets on next season.
