Ipswich Town have shortlisted Luton Town winger Chiedozie Ogbene following an injury to winger Wes Burns, in what could be their final piece of business this summer, according to the BBC.
The newly-promoted side lost their experienced winger on the opening day of the season as he picked up a hamstring injury in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Burns is set to be sidelined at least until the international break and the Tractor Boys want to be prepared.
They have now turned their attention to Luton Town winger Ogbene as an additional option in that position and want to get a deal over the line before Friday’s deadline.
The 27-year-old joined Luton only last summer and ended the Premier League season with five-goal contributions in 30 appearances.
Ipswich now want to use his experience in their battle to extend their stay in the top flight.
If the deal goes through in the coming days, it will be Ipswich Town’s final bit of business of the summer.
They have been one of the most active top-flight teams having spent almost £100m on players already.
