Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Ipswich are set to make a move for Kevin Denkey. After a deal with Chelsea for Armando Broja fell through, the newly promoted Premier League side have now turned their attention to the Togolese forward. Cercle Brugge are looking to gain in the region of €15-20m for the forward who was the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League last season. Denkey had been linked with a number of clubs such as Lille over the summer and is almost certainly going to leave Belgium before the window closes.

Last season Denkey’s goals were the catalyst for Cercle to qualify for European football for the first time in over a decade. The striker scored an impressive 28 goals in 39 goals in all competitions. So far this season he already has three goals and two assists in nine games. Cercle look set to qualify for European group stage football for the first time following a 6-1 win away to Wisła Kraków last week. The side had hoped to keep Denkey for the qualification campaign and it looks like that decision has certainly paid off.
