Simone Inzaghi is hoping to see Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku create a display like the one they did against Lazio in February 2021 under Antonio Conte, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, there was a match when Simone Inzaghi was still the coach of Lazio that will likely have stuck in the memory of the Italian manager.

Both Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez were in superb form in the 3-1 victory. The Belgian forward scored two of the goals and the other one was scored by the Argentine strike partner.

Simone Inzaghi now has those players under his control and he will want to see them play like that against Lazio on Friday night at the Stadio Olimpico.

A win will be very important as it will give confidence ahead of six matches between August 30 and September 18 that the Nerazzurri must navigate.
