Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi admits his team “weren’t good enough” in today’s Serie A loss to Juventus by Inter Milan.

Inter Milan fell to their third defeat of the season in Serie A this evening.
And it was a particularly bitter loss for the Nerazzurri.
The Derby d’Italia is always a heated fixture. The rivalry between Inter and Juventus is an historic one with no love lost between both teams, no matter what’s at stake.
But beyond that there is the fact that Inter had the chance to go top of the table this evening.
A win would have taken the Nerazzurri a point clear of Napoli after the league leaders’ slip-up against Lazio yesterday.
And even a draw would have at least allowed Inter to stay within a point of the Partenopei.
However, Inter lost, with Francisco Conceicao’s second goal enough to give the hosts all three points.
After the match, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi admitted that “There’s regret, we’re disappointed.”
“The guys played a match with courage. We should have done better at finishing and scoring goals.”

“We should have ended the first half with a lead,” Inzaghi said.
“Then the way we approached the second half wasn’t like the first. And then when we finally settled into it, the goal came.”
“We can’t make any big proclamations,” the Inter coach said. “Because what we’re doing isn’t enough for our goals.”
Of his second half substitutions, Inzaghi said that “In the second half we weren’t doing as well as in the first.”
“We knew that Juve would grow into the game. We were no longer as fluid as we had been in the first half.”
Inzaghi added that “Tonight was a completely different match to the one in Florence.”
“We have to change gear, particularly in the head-to-head matches.”
As far as Inter’s finishing, Inzaghi said that “We have to do better.”
“We wasted several situation that I’ve never seen in the nine years that I’ve been coming here [to face Juventus away as a coach.]”
“We’re talking about a defeat that hurts. It has to make us work harder and better.”
