Inter president Steven Zhang would like the club to sign at least one midfielder this summer despite the fact that the club is looking to make money during the transfer window, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, the Inter president has had a very successful time in Milan before flying back to China to continue his work from afar.

He has confirmed the contract renewals of four directors who many thought could be leaving the club in the near future. They are Chief Operating Officer Beppe Marotta, Sporting Director Piero Ausilio, his deputy Dario Baccin, and Head of Youth Football Roberto Samaden. They will all stay for at least another two years.

He has also met with head coach Simone Inzaghi and explained how he is looking to bring a new midfielder to the San Siro, despite the fact that Inter needs to have made a €70 million profit by the end of the summer and reduced the player wage bill by 15%.
