Simone Inzaghi’s lack of options to call on from the bench was one of the reasons for Inter’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport when analysing the defeats that the two Milan sides faced in Europe this week, they reported that when Inter took Lautaro Martinez and Ivan Perisic off the pitch, Inter looked deflated and lost their attacking edge.

That is contrasted with the fact that Real Madrid’s winning goal was thanks to an attacking move involving Eduardo Camavinga and Rodrygo, who both came off the bench during the second half to improve Real Madrid.

These two youngsters came on and improved their team, whilst Eden Hazard, Isco, and Marcos Asensio were all still on the bench not being used by Carlo Ancelotti as he didn’t need to.
