Inter striker Romelu Lukaku could feel that he has little option but to start for Belgium in their final group stage match against Croatia at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that with the Red Devils in “crisis” the Nerazzurri striker could feel that his presence will be necessary for the do-or-die match against Croatia.

After having gotten their group stage campaign off to the start they wanted with a win over Canada in their opener, Belgium fell to a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Morocco yesterday.

Lukaku made a cameo appearance in the second half, but was powerless to turn things around for Belgium.

Now, the Red Devils’ third and final group stage match against Croatia is virtually must-win if they are to reach the knockout rounds.

So far, Lukaku has not started for Belgium as he has not been fit enough to do so, but given his importance to his national side, it could be decided that there is little option.
