Inter wingback Robin Gosens put in a very positive display in the team’s 6-1 friendly win over Gzira United yesterday, although this will not necessarily keep him from leaving for the Bundesliga in January.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that the 28-year-old shone in the match, but that it may make little difference if he continues to be behind Federico Dimarco in the pecking order.

Given that Gosens was not at the World Cup in Qatar with Germany, the former Atalanta wingback reported straight for training with the rest of the Nerazzurri’s squad at the end of last week.

The 28-year-old is currently at the team’s training retreat in Malta.

Gosens put in a standout performance in the first of two friendly matches of the retreat, against Maltese side Gzira United.

However, the German’s view remains that, should he continue to be clearly behind Dimarco to start on the left flank, he could seek a transfer to a team in the Bundesliga for more playing time.
