Inter’s Match With Venezia At Risk After Positive Covid-19 Cases Amongst Opposition Players, Italian Media Report

Inter’s Serie A match against Venezia on Saturday evening is at risk of being postponed due to positive Covid-19 cases among the Arancioneroverdi squad, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by L’Interista today, a coronavirus outbreak amongst the Venezia squad means that Inter could have their second game of the season postponed due to Covid-19 cases.

The first was the trip away to Bologna which has still not been rescheduled. The positive cases for Venezia have come from rapid tests so the club are waiting for the results from the molecular swab tests that are more accurate.

The new protocol in Serie A states that if 35% of the players in the squad test positive then the entire team must not go ahead with the next match.

The only real hope for the fixture is if the rapid tests were incorrect and the molecular ones come back negative for more players.
