Inter forward Marcus Thuram expressed his respect for Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema and Arsenal hero Thierry Henry.
Speaking in an interview with Corriere Della Serra, Inter star man Marcus Thuram revealed that he is working to align his playing style with that of Real Madrid and France legend Karim Benzema. He said: “I wanted to be on the wing, dribble, catch the ball. Last year at the beginning of the season I had a discussion with my father: we said things to each other and I chose to play center forward. I like him [Karim Benzema] a lot, he is an inspiration for sure. And one day I would like to reach his level: I’ll try.”
The 26-year-old has referred to his style to be like more of France legend Thierry Henry than that of his father, Lilian Thuram. On Henry, he said: “I feel it a lot. He gives me advice on life, not just football.”
Marcus Thuram has emerged as one of the best signings of the last summer transfer window. He has registered nine goals and seven assists across 23 league appearances for the Nerazzurri and has played a crucial role in building up the momentum in attack. Inter fans were initially divided on the club’s decision to choose the Frenchman over former star Romelu Lukaku but Thuram has proved himself this season and has turned the tide in his favour.
