Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic On Win vs FC Sheriff: “Against A Stronger Team The First Half Does Not End 1-0”

Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has criticised his side’s performance in the first half against FC Sheriff on Tuesday night, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Whilst speaking to Mediaset Infinity, as has been reported by FcINternews, Marcelo Brozovic explained that Inter would not have been 1-0 up in the first half if they were against a stronger side.

“Today was an important victory for us, today we played well but in the first half we gave away too many chances.

“Here we have to improve, we don’t have to concede goals in every game. Against a stronger team, the first half doesn’t end 1-0.”

Inter have been guilty of conceding too many chances and subsequently too many goals so far this season and Marcelo Brozovic clearly feel the team needs to address that.

When asked if the Croatian thinks this win could be the turning point in Inter’s Champions League campaign, he agreed but played down the importance of this game specifically.

“In my opinion, yes, but we care about winning every game. We expect more important ones, let’s move on.”

Inter would have been in serious trouble if they had failed to record a victory over FC Sheriff on Tuesday night, as they had only gathered one point from their first two games of the group stage.
