The calf injury suffered by Inter wingback Ivan Perisic in the second half of yesterday evening’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria yesterday evening will be examined by club doctors today.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the problem could be enough to see him out for a month although it comes at a point where there are no matches on the horizon for the Nerazzurri.

Perisic having to go off with his injury was the one dark spot on another effective display for the 33-year-old, as he was taken off on a stretcher as a precaution.

The calf problem would certainly see the Croat out for at least one match were it to come during the season rather than right at the end, likely as long as a month, though exams will determine the exact extent of the injury.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport also report that the Nerazzurri will not go far beyond their contract offer of €4.5 million net per season to extend with Perisic, though they could approach his €6 million net demand through the inclusion of add-ons.
