The final signing that Inter make this summer will likely have to be a loan deal rather than a permanent purchase unless money is brought in through more sales.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri’s owners would be unlikely to authorize money being put towards a permanent signing for a fee as things stand.

Inter are expected to make one more signing before the transfer window slams shut, with the profile being sought an out-and-out central defender who can provide depth in the backline after the departure of Andrea Ranocchia earlier in the window.

Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi is one name that has been persistently linked, but he would likely only arrive if a loan deal can be worked out with the Biancocelesti late on in the window.

The intention of the owners would be to not spend any more than has already been outlayed this summer on transfer fees, and so a loan or possibly a free transfer would be the club’s options.
