Inter have produced their best performances this season with Christian Eriksen in midfield, a report in the Italian media argued today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said Eriksen helped the Nerazzurri play better football under Antonio Conte, as shown by Inter’s displays against Lazio and AC Milan back in February.

The Dane has started nine times for Inter in Serie A since the halfway mark of the season, underlining the importance of the role he has had since the end of January.

All that Eriksen had been missing was a goal, the Rome-based paper argued, and that arrived on Sunday when he scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw away at Napoli.

Eriksen hadn’t scored in Serie A since Inter’s 6-0 win at home to Brescia at the end of last season, while he had only scored once in all competitions this season (against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia).

The 29-year-old can now be considered a completely reborn player at Inter.
