Inter youngster Franco Carboni is set to join Serie B side Cagliari on loan and the medical is set for tomorrow, according to a report in the Italian media this evening.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on his website, the Argentinian left-back is going to be heading to Sardinia for his medical on Saturday and then he will spend one season with the Rossoblu as they attempt to get back into Serie A at the first time of asking.

It appeared to be a straight choice between Hellas Verona and Cagliari for the youngster but he chose to go with the Serie B side because they can offer him the best chance of regular football.

He would likely have been behind Darko Lazovic in the Hellas Verona pecking order and the move could have led to minimal development.

There was a chance he could be involved in the Gleison Bremer deal with Torino.
