Inter would see their annual turnover shoot upwards by taking part in a new European Super League, a report in the Italian media explained today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri were guaranteed to earn a minimum of €135 million per season from their participation in the new franchise.

Inter could earn a maximum of €300 million annually from the Super League, three times as much as clubs currently earn for winning the UEFA Champions League, depending on their results and other factors.

The Rome-based paper described the Super League plans as the crystallization of the difference between football’s rich and poor, something which has only been worsened by UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regime.

Inter would play 18 games in the new Super League, guaranteeing the Nerazzurri revenue from nine home games against Europe’s elite.

Having a guaranteed spot in the tournament would also help clubs plan their finances more accurately, with the certainty of Super League income as opposed to having to qualify.
