Inter Wingback Matteo Darmian Suffers Strain To Left Thigh, Italian Media Report

Inter wing-back Matteo Darmian has suffered a strain to his left thigh during the Nerazzurri’s win over Venezia in Serie A this evening.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the initial tests have shown that the problem that caused the 31-year-old to have to leave the pitch during the second half of the clash was a strain to his thigh.

Darmian went down holding his upper leg midway through the second half, and after being looked at by medical staff it was decided that he should be substituted off the pitch rather than continuing, with Denzel Dumfries coming on in his place.

The wing-back’s condition was quickly evaluated afterwards, with the strain being revealed by the initial tests.

It remains to be seen how the serious the injury is and whether it will cause him to miss any significant time from the club, and further tests over the next few days should reveal more.
