Inter wing-back Federico Dimarco looks more and more ready to step up and make a contribution to the Nerazzurri first team.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, where the 23-year-old is praised for the quality of his contribution in yesterday’s friendly against Crotone.

Dimarco returned to the club this summer from a loan spell with Hellas Verona, where his improvements could be seen playing under Verona head coach Ivan Juric.

His future has not been immediately clear with a number of clubs thought to be interested in his signature, but the possibility of a stay at Inter has always been on the table, and it now appears that he could be the right fit.

Simone Inzaghi could put his trust in the 23-year-old and see him as a major option on the left of the pitch for next season based on the strength of performances like the one he showed against Crotone yesterday afternoon.

“Juric’s care,” write the Gazzetta, “in short, did [Dimarco] a lot of good, giving him the personality and confidence to affect the game, as well as reducing his deficiencies with marking.”
