Inter will be in contention to sign Papu Gomez before the end of January if Christian Eriksen completes a return to the Premier League first, according to a leading Italian journalist.

Transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, who works for Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia, confirmed the Danish midfielder had interest from former club Tottenham and Leicester City, reporting the Foxes had made contact with the Nerazzurri earlier today.

Inter are prepared to let Eriksen leave on loan this month but do not want to pay the remainder of his €7.5 million net annual salary if that happens.
