Inter are targeting Eintrachr Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic on loan during the January transfer window, but his club are only interested in a permanent deal for him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are still trying to convinced the Bundesliga team on an initial loan.

A left-sided player to back up Ivan Perisic has been a priority for the Nerazzurri during the January transfer window, and Kostic is a long-term target who is also seen as a long-term successor for the Croat.

Inter would not be able to bring the Serb in on a permanent deal initially, however, and are hoping to be able to negotiate an initial loan deal which would include an option or obligation to buy him on a permanent basis.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s Ramy Bensebaini is the main alternative to Kostic, but his club are also currently closed off to the idea of loaning him out initially.
