After the 3-2 home win against Monza, the Champions League will resume. The Nerazzurri will take Feyenoord, one week after the first-leg. Kick-off is scheduled for Tuesday 11 March at 21:00 CET, at San Siro.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

In the first-leg, on Wednesday 5 March in Rotterdam, the Nerazzurri won 2-0 thanks to goals from Thuram and Lautaro. Before the match at de Kuyp, Inter had faced the Dutch side on four previous occasions, twice in official matches and twice during friendlies. In the official matches in the main European competitions, the Dutch side eliminated the Nerazzurri in the UEFA Cup semi-final of the 200102 season (3-2 on aggregate, 1-0 in the first-leg to Feyenoord and 2-2 in the second-leg). The two other unofficial occasions came in the first Mundialito in 1981 and then four years later in another friendly tournament, the Dutch Antilles Tournament, played in 1985 in Curaçao, a Caribbean Island.

THE NERAZZURRI'S FORM

Inter come into the clash after coming back to win against Monza, on Serie A matchday 28. The Nerazzurri won 3-2 at San Siro after a tense and exciting match, decided by the goals from Arnautovic, Calhanoglu and Kyriakopoulos' own-goal. As a result of the three points against the Brianzoli, Simone Inzaghi's side continue their defence of top spot in the league with 61 points. The Nerazzurri have the best attack in the league having scored 63 goals. In the Champions League, however, Inter boast a brilliant defensive record. With the clean-sheet in Rotterdam, the Nerazzurri have equalled their unbeaten record in a single season in the highest-level European competition: eight matches without conceding, just like in the 2022/23 season. Additionally, Inzaghi's side have won four of their last six matches in the direct elimination phrase, keeping a clean sheet on numerous occasions.

LAUTARO AT THE TOP

The night at the De Kuip was brilliant for Lautaro Martinez. The Inter captain entered the club's history books, becoming the club's all-time top scorer in the European Cup/Champions League, with 18 goals, overtaking Sandro Mazzola. An incredible achievement for the Inter number ten, who has already scored six goals in the Champions League this season, his best record to date in a single season of the competition. A true talisman and absolute leader.

THE OPPONENT: FEYENOORD

The side from Rotterdam have been led by Robin Van Persie for a few weeks. The ex-Dutch forward made his debut in the dugout on Saturday 1 March as his side drew 0-0 against NEC in the Eredevisie. Van Persie began and finished his playing career at Feyenoord. In the first-leg he adopted a 4-2-3-1 formation with Wellenreuther in goal, a back four composed of Mitchell, Beelen, Hancko and Bueno. Moder and Smal the midfield two with Hadj Moussa, Paixao and Osman sitting in front of them. Carranza led the line. Osman, squalificato, non sarà quindi della gara e si aggiunge alla lunga lista di indisponibili. Al suo posto dovrebbe giocare Ivanusec. Osman is suspended so will not play. Ivanusec should replace him.

FEYENOORD'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

Feyenoord have quailified for the Round of 16 in the Champions Cup/Champions League for the first time since the 1974/75 season. It is a historical triumph for them that came after a great league phase run finishing in seventh places level on points with PSG, Benfica, Monaco and Brest. They then went on to beat AC Milan in the play-off.

They won 13 points in the league stage with four wins and a draw. They scored 18 and conceded 21.
