Inter ultras had planned a protest to express their dissatisfaction towards their club’s advances to sign Juan Cuadrado.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter ultras were seen gathering in front of the club headquarters in Viale della Liberazione yesterday afternoon to contest the management’s choice in signing Juan Cuadrado.

The demonstrations were peaceful but never reached the level of a full blown protest and club representatives immediately came out to calm down the fans, guaranteeing them the opportunity to speak with the player before the start of the season.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has often positively stunned the fans by signing rival players but the potential arrival of the former Juventus man is being frowned upon. The fans are dissenting because they believe Cuadrado has provoked them on numerous occasions during the derbies. The most recent altercation happened between the 35-year-old and Romelu Lukaku during last season’s Coppa Italia semi-finals.

However, the protesting fans accepted the Nerazzurri officials’ proposal and decided to put their trust in the club before clearing out the headquarters.
