Mauro Icardi may be back for Inter but the club’s ultras not happy about it.
After being stripped of the club captaincy in February amid an ugly contract dispute, he placed himself in exile.
Although he has since returned for the Nerazzurri, not everyone is pleased to see him back.
Sections of the San Siro have applauded him since returning but the Curva Nord ultras remain furious.
“That little man who wears the number nine doesn’t deserve Inter,” read an ultras statement in reference to Icardi.
“He hasn’t even shown the minimum professional conduct that any employee of a company should demonstrate.
“It is a certainty that ‘the number nine’ cannot be a figure upon which to build a group for the future.
“We hear that what is happening in our stands wouldn’t happen in other European leagues.
“But the question we ask is have you ever seen players from other leagues pretend to be injured and refuse to play?
“Have you seen them grin before a defeat, leave the squad for months and return thanks to lawyers?”
The 26-year-old has scored once since his return but is yet to find the net on home turf.
