Despite very few signings in the summer transfer window for the Nerazzurri, Inter managed to find themselves involved in last-minute drama on transfer dead-line day.
After facing bureaucratic issues and slight changes in the final details to seal the acquistion, the arrival of promising Argentine defender Tomas Palacios to the Beneamata materialized and was officially announced yesterday.
Luca Bendoni reported that despite the 21-year-old having been sent out on loan to Talleres from Independente Rivadavia, the Biscione managed to persuade the Argentinian outfits into a termination of the loan and acquire Palacios for a transfer worth €6.5m and bonuses that could increase the fee to a potential €11m. The rising star has agreed on a five-year deal worth a salary of €700k per-season.
Furthermore, despite Inter seeking opportunities to potentially offload Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa throughout the summer, no concrete offers were received despite various contacts and a handful of clubs monitoring the situations of the pair of players, both forwards will remain at Inter and be integrated within the squad.
