Inter are ready to increase their contract extension offer to Ivan Perisic to a two-year deal worth €6 million net per season to convince him to stay on past the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will meet with the 33-year-old’s representatives on Monday or Tuesday to put forward the new offer.

Inter are increasingly determined to keep hold of Perisic, especially after it has become clear that Serie A rivals Juventus are interested in signing him on a free transfer at the end of his contract and will make him an offer.

The Nerazzurri’s offer up to this point has gone no higher than €4.5 million net per season with some relatively small add-ons, whereas the Bianconeri are ready to put forward €6 million net per season to sign him.

Inter have not been keen to go much higher than the €4.5 million net per season that has been offered thus far as their policy is not aimed at offering big contracts to players around his age.

However, the situation has moved them to have a change of heart, and they should offer the Croat the same deal as the Bianconeri are offering him, and will propose it in a meeting the day or two after the final game of the Serie A match of the season against Sampdoria tomorrow.
