Inter will meet with Ivan Perisic regarding the possible extension of his contract in February.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will only offer a deal at reduced wages to the 32-year-old.

Perisic’s form this season as one of the Nerazzurri’s outstanding performers has meant that the club has considered making a push to try and renew his current contract past the end of June when it is set to expire.

However, the arrival of Robin Gosens from Atalanta on an initial loan before joining permanently in the summer could change the situation significantly.

Gosens is seen as an ideal long-term successor to Perisic, and the club will not feel pressured to agree a renewal with the Croat.

However, they are still happy to find an agreement with the wing-back on a renewal, so long as he would take a wage cut from the net €5 million which he currently earns.
