Inter will make one final attempt to convince Ivan Perisic to extend his contract beyond the end of the season, but they will not offer the €6 million net per season that he is asking.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who report that the Nerazzurri are still aiming to agree a new deal with the 33-year-old, although a departure on a free transfer is a possibility.

Perisic’s future is very much up in the air, particularly after his outburst following the Coppa Italia final in which he indicated that he feels that the contract talks have dragged on for too long.

Should Perisic leave on a free transfer he would have no shortage of suitors, with La Repubblica reporting that there are teams in the Premier League and the Bundesliga interested in him as well as Inter’s Serie A rivals Juventus.

However, the club’s hope is still to keep him in the squad and they will make one more push to agree a new deal past the end of next month.
