Inter are set to hold contract extension talks with third-choice goalkeeper Alex Cordaz in the spring.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that both the Nerazzurri as well as Cordaz would be open to extending the 39-year-old’s current deal which runs out at the end of June 2023.

Cordaz joined Inter from Crotone during the summer transfer window of 2021 to become the club’s third-choice keeper.

The 39-year-old joined on a two-year deal which runs out at the end of June 2023 as things stand.

The Nerazzurri would be open to extending Cordaz’s contract, as the player is considered to be a reliable option and a positive presence in the dressing room.

Meanwhile, the player himself would be happy to remain past the end of the season, as he has already rejected offers from teams in Serie B to stay at Inter over the summer, and he came through the Nerazzurri’s youth system.

However, Inter’s policy is to delay contract talks with players in their thirties until the second half of the season, so the negotiations with Cordaz should take place in the spring.
