Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez is one step away from completing a transfer from Atalanta to Sevilla according to an Italian newspaper report today.

As per Tuttosport, Atalanta have discarded the possibility of selling the Argentine to either Inter, Juventus or Roma due to favouring Gomez moving to Sevilla.

Negotiations between Atalanta and Sevilla have been going on in secret for a number of weeks now with the clubs working on the basis of conducting a loan with obligation to buy deal for the 32-year-old.

The clubs have been working on doing a loan with obligation to buy deal and are working on closing the gap between supply and demand.

The total cost of the deal should be around €10 million.

Gomez, who has fallen out of favour at Atalanta, has also been strongly linked with a potential switch to MLS franchise FC Cincinnati, who are reportedly prepared to make him the highest paid player in the league.
