Esposito spent last season on loan in Switzerland with Basel, but the Swiss side declined to make the move a permanent one and instead asked for the striker on loan for another season with the same conditions.

Anderlecht have won the race for the 19-year-old’s signature, and will sign him on a one-season loan which they will have the option to make permanent.

As was the case with Basel’s purchase option, the terms of the loan to Anderlecht contains a counter-option for Inter which would allow the Nerazzurri to buy Esposito back for €1 million more than the Belgians pay for him.
