Inter strengthened their Scudetto ambitions after beating Juventus 2-0 at San Siro on Sunday.
Goals from Arturo Vidal and Nicolò Barella were enough to secure victory against the Bianconeri.
After a lively start, Cristiano Ronaldo thought he put Juventus ahead only for Federico Chiesa to be ruled offside during the build up.
But it was Inter who broke the deadlock minutes later when Arturo Vidal rose highest to head home Nicolò Barella’s cross – his first league goal in almost six years.
The hosts could have doubled their lead before half time but Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez both missed presentable opportunities.
However, Inter would eventually make it 2-0 through Barella who finished brilliantly after being put through by an outrageous Alessandro Bastoni pass.
Juventus created their best opportunity through Federico Chiesa but his fierce strike was saved brilliantly by goalkeeper Samir Handanović.
The Nerazzuri are now second – level on points with fierce rivals Milan – whilst Andrea Pirlo has some thinking to do with his side falling behind.
