Inter are still a long way from hitting the target of making €60 million in profit from the transfer market but they need a new defender regardless, according to a report in the Italian print media.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the mission of reducing the wage bill has been achieved but in terms of transfer revenues, they are not there yet.
Andrea Pinamonti is set to move to Sassuolo for €20 million so along with the sales of Michele Di Gregorio and Gravillon, they have made €28.5 million.
When the amortised transfers into the club are brought into the mix, the profit is sat at €13.5 million.
Despite the fact that there is a huge amount of work to do, Inter know that they simply have to add a new defender to the squad to replace Andrea Ranochhia.
It also means that a big sale cannot be ruled out late in the window.
