Nicolò Barella is expected to be back from injury in Inter‘s first game after the international break, when the Nerazzurri will face Ivan Juric’s Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on 20 October.
The Italy international was subbed off in the second half of his side’s 2-1 loss against Milan in September and has since missed all the Nerazzurri’s following matches due to a rectus femoris strain.
According to Inter’s medical staff, the midfielder needed from three to four weeks to complete his recovery and everything is seemingly going as planned, meaning Barella aims to be at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal right after the end of the two-week international hiatus.
Barella is still doing individual work to fully recover from injury, but according to Sky Sport Italia he should start training with his teammates again next Tuesday, in order to be ready for Inter’s fixture at Roma, as reported by Fcinternews.
The Nerazzurri won all three matches they played across Serie A and the Champions League during Barella’s absence so far. The former Cagliari midfielder was replaced by Davide Frattesi, who scored against Udinese to help Simone Inzaghi’s outfit win 3-2 and immediately bounce back after their defeat in the Derby della Madonnina.
Crucially, Barella will also be back in time for a string of delicate games that will see Inter face Juventus, Arsenal and Napoli in the space of a few weeks.
