Inter’s players have some frustration regarding decisions made by referee Alessandro Prontera in Saturday’s Serie A clash with Lecce, but they are mostly focusing on self-improvement in training.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri squad are annoyed at the decisions to not send off Federico Baschirotto for a heavy challenge on Lautaro Martinez and to disallow a second-half goal by Romelu Lukaku.

Inter’s Serie A opener didn’t quite go according to plan despite ending in a 2-1 win as they’ll have wanted, and in particular the physicality and disjointed nature of the match frustrated the Nerazzurri’s players.

The players feel frustrated with the way that the match was officiated and feel that it had an effect on how proceedings went, but coach Simone Inzaghi has emphasized that this should not be the focus.

The coach has made clear that there is still plenty of soul-searching and hard work that will be needed to get up to speed if the team are to achieve their goals this season.
