Inter and Cagliari look to have settled on a formula for the transfer of midfielder Radja Nainggolan to the Rossoblu.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the Belgian will be loaned out to the Sardinians rather than sold permanently, and that the Nerazzurri will pay a significant portion of his wages, which could help convince the Rossoblu on a move for Nahitan Nandez.

Nainggolan’s departure to the Rossoblu, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, has been expected for much of the summer, with the midfielder wanting a move and both clubs hoping to complete a deal.

However, an agreement has proved difficult to reach between all three parties on a permanent sale, with the player’s wages an issue, and the Nerazzurri have been reluctant to offer him severance pay that would enable the Rossoblu to pay him lower wages than he is set to earn on the final season of his Nerazzurri contract.

However, the Nerazzurri look close to an unorthodox arrangement which will see him loaned out for the final season of his contract, and Inter pay two thirds of his net €4 million salary.

It is hoped that this will prompt the Rossoblu to accelerate an agreement for Nandez which will be closer to the Nerazzurri’s preferred terms.
