Hellas Verona full-back Federico Dimarco believes his loan spell at the club from Inter has allowed him to develop as a player, whilst he is targeting more goals next season.

The 23-year-old came through the academy at Inter but was sent to the Gialloblu at the start of the season, with Verona holding an option to purchase him permanently in the summer.

In an interview with Italian television broadcaster DAZN following his equaliser in Verona’s 1-1 draw against Torino in Serie A earlier today, Dimarco praised coach Ivan Juric for strengthening his defensive game in the full-back position over the course of the campaign.

“I needed this new role a lot. In the past I looked at the defensive phase less, but working with the coach I feel much improved,” Dimarco declared.

The Italian U-21 international has now struck five goals this season from defence but is looking to improve his tally next year.

“I hope to reach double figures next year, but first we must finish this season well.”

Dimarco has made six senior appearances for Inter across two spells at the club, having been sold to Swiss club Sion in 2017 before being bought back the following season.
